I am fourth year PhD student studying
children's and adolescent literature at Illinois State University in
Normal, IL. My primary research interests focus on coming of age
metaphors in adolescent literature and the ways in which those
metaphors construct adolescence within young adult literature. My
current research project explores these metaphors as they function as
markers of adulthood and implications of using these metaphors as
"rites of passage." I received my master's degree from Missouri State
University where I studied children's literature and folklorisitics. I
currently teach children's literature, adolescent literature, and
composition courses at Illinois State University. |
